Steven Eckard, PE

Steven J. Eckard
Steven J. Eckard is Executive Vice President of Enthalpy Analytical, Inc. Mr. Eckard started his career testing smoke stacks. In that role, he was responsible for special projects that involved testing non-standard emission sources for a variety of organic pollutants. Several years of managing these unique projects exposed Mr. Eckard to a wide variety of testing and analysis circumstances. Mr. Eckard is considered an expert on sampling and analysis of organic pollutants from many different source and industry types. In 1993 he founded Enthalpy Analytical, Inc. Since 1993, Mr. Eckard has been managing environmental laboratories specializing in air pollution testing and tobacco smoke analysis. Mr. Eckard has also managed the quality systems for those labs. He is well versed in ISO 17025 and FDA Good Laboratory Practices based Quality Management Systems.

Jennifer Feller

Jennifer Feller
Jennifer (Jenn) Feller is an experienced business development / technical sales manager with a demonstrated history of working on modified and reduced risk tobacco products with a focus on ENDS and heated tobacco products. Jenn has strong project and quality management skills coupled with extensive knowledge of serving and supporting projects for FDA submission, including ENDS, whole cigarettes, tobacco filler & smoke, waterpipe, oral pouches, and prototype devices. Her general knowledge of various detection methods including liquid and gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and inductively coupled plasma was invaluable on all of these projects. Jenn is also responsible for contributing to continuous initiatives to increase operating efficiency, improve quality, and facilitate the client service experience. Jenn has a strong science background and graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science in physics, with a focus on mathematics from Loyola University, New Orleans.

Meghan Shea

Meghan Shea
Meghan Shea is a business development manager at Enthalpy Analytical. Meghan has been in the analytical testing industry for over eight years and has a strong knowledge of wet chemistry and project management. Her experience with laboratory automation including information management systems has been invaluable in numerous initiatives to improve quality throughout the life cycle of a project. Meghan has managed dozens of large projects for regulatory submission to the FDA and other regulatory bodies, with a focus on ENDS. Meghan has a strong science background with a bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.

Lauren Campbell
Lauren Campbell is the sales manager for the nicotine product testing division at Enthalpy Analytical. Lauren provides administrative and customer service support to the business development team, including support for customer creation and onboarding. She has been with Enthalpy for over two years and her experience and general industry knowledge allows her to guide clients through the quotation process with understanding and empathy. Lauren has a bachelor of science in Urban and Regional Planning with an environmental planning focus, and graduated cum laude from the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mariano Scian
Dr. Mariano Scian is the Technical Director of Enthalpy’s toxicology department for nicotine products located in Richmond, VA. Mariano is a research professional with a history of working in higher education teaching biology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pathophysiology for over 10 years. He has been with Enthalpy for over six years and has extensive experience in overseeing the performance and ad advising on the results for Enthalpy’s mutagenicity, genotoxicity, and cytotoxicity assays. He is responsible for the oversight of his team’s integral expansion initiatives such as method development for ALI / Vitrocell® and flow cytometry. Mariano earned his doctorate in molecular biology, his graduate certificate in human physiology, and his bachelors in biology from the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Jacob Hilldrup

Jacob Hilldrup
Jacob (Jake) Hilldrup is a Technical Director of Enthalpy’s chemistry department for nicotine products located in Richmond, VA. Jake has been at Enthalpy for over 7 years and has helped the company expand its capabilities into numerous new product categories including cigars, e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and oral pouches. He has extensive experience in project design, new method implementation, adherence to ISO 17025 compliance, and data review of finished results. Jake is also a member of the ISO US (ANSI) Technical Advisory Group as well as Coresta. He actively contributes to collaborative and proficiency studies while helping form and continuously improve international standards used to test cigarettes, cigars, ENDS, and tobacco products. He has submitted several topics for discussion including cigar analysis and alternative collections for in vitro toxicology testing. Jake has a strong analytical and regulatory background with a bachelor of science in chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Alexandra (Alex) Martin is a Technical Director of Enthalpy’s chemistry department for nicotine products located in Richmond, VA, specializing in method development and validation. She is an active member of the tobacco community including a member of Coretsa.

Sherri Brown

Sherri Brown
Sherri Brown is the Technical Director of Enthalpy’s nicotine product testing division located in Durham, NC. Sherri has been with Enthalpy for over 11 years and is directly responsible for the development and validation of the bulk of in-house developed methods for gas chromatography and mass spectrometry including the analysis of volatile organic compounds, nicotine and humectants, nitrosamines, minor alkaloids, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and esters and acetates. Sherri has a bachelor of science in chemistry and graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University.

Tony Mastrianni
Tony Mastrianni is the Laboratory Director of Enthalpy’s Durham, NC location. Tony has been involved with Enthalpy since its inception and has performed various roles throughout his career including project manager, sales manager, and vice president. Tony has a bachelor of science in biology and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Kasey Raley
Kasey Raley is the Laboratory Director of Enthalpy Analytical’s Tobacco and Nicotine division. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado, Kasey Raley spent 18 years working in the Environmental Testing Industry focused on drinking water and wastewater aspects. She has worked hard over the past 18 years in numerous roles as a Laboratory Analyst, Senior Biologist, Microbiology Technical Manager, Senior Analytical Services Manager, Client Services Manager and Quality Manager, to become the industry expert she is today. Since joining Enthalpy, Kasey has been able to apply her knowledge and experience in laboratory testing to assume supervisory control of all operations and production aspects of the tobacco group.

Teresa Morrison

Teresa Morrison has over 30 years of experience in the environmental laboratory industry, with extensive background in laboratory management, project management, and quality assurance, as well as sample preparation and analysis. She has a proven ability to improve laboratory systems while effectively managing conflicting regulatory, quality, and operational requirements. In her current role as Regional QA Director, she provides managerial and technical training and support to the local QA Managers and other laboratory staff performing chemical and whole effluent toxicity testing under multiple State and Federal programs.

Valgena Respass

Valgena Respass
Leveraging 15 plus years as a Quality Manager, Valgena Respass is now the Regional Quality Assurance Director at Enthalpy Analytical. Her BS in Chemistry from Elizabeth City State University in NC and 20 plus years of experience in the Environmental Testing Industry includes extensive experience in overseeing laboratory staff and quality management. Valgena’s career started at the bench, performing chemical extractions of organic constituents from potable water, non-potable water and solid waste and analyzing these organic constituents using GC and GCMS instrumentation. In her current role, she continues to oversee and manage various laboratory quality management systems including TNI NELAP, DoD QSM, and ISO 17025 accredited systems.

Stephanie Simmons

Stephanie Simmons
Stephanie Simmons is the Quality Director of Enthalpy’s Richmond, VA location. She has been with Enthalpy for over 8 years combined and has worked in quality assurance for over 11 years. Stephanie has implemented and spearheaded integral initiatives to improve the quality of traceability and data including harmonizing the standard operating procedures and quality management system between the nicotine product testing sites. Her expertise with the ISO 17025 standard and good laboratory practices allows the lab to successfully navigate dozens of internal and external audits each year from both clients and regulatory bodies. Our clients appreciate the ease of vendor qualification surveys and audits through her thorough documentation and implementation. Stephanie has a bachelor of science in biology from James Madison University.

Clifford (Cliff) Baldridge is the Quality Director of Enthalpy’s Durham, NC location. Cliff has been with Enthalpy for over 5 years and has a strong quality assurance background in numerous regulatory body quality standards including the ISO 17025 standard. He actively maintains current certificates for seven regulatory bodies and hosts internal and external audits annually for both clients and regulators.
